Carman & Donna Jackson and family own and operate a diverse mixed farm at Inglis, MB. The cattle operation involves 170 breeding females including purebred Charolais - High Bluff Stock Farm and Simmental - EGC Simmental as well as a Simmental X Red Angus commercial herd.

An award for 25-year active membership in the Canadian Simmental Association was received in 1997. Females are selected for replacements and feeder steers and heifers are fed on the farm feedlot.

The Jackson's grain operation includes wheat, oats, barley and canola. Carman & Donna grain farm together with Carman's parents, Earl and Mary as well as Carman's brother Glenn and his wife Terry. Much of the grain grown is seed grain and marketed through Jackson Seed Farm.

Carman & Donna with their five daughters, Erin, Fawn, Haylan, Autumn and Tomina enjoy horseback riding, camping, downhill and cross country skiing, curling and dancing.

Ukrainian dance is important to the Jackson's family life - it is an opportunity for the children to learn about the culture, geography and history of their Grandma Jackson's heritage.

4-H plays a very important role in the Jackson family. The girls are active 4th generation 4-Hers involved in beef. They are members of the Inglis 4-H Variety Club, where Carman is a beef leader.

Most treasured to Carman & Donna is spending time with their daughters and sharing their love of the land, animals and the outdoors. The Jackson children have been directly exposed to the many facets of agriculture and this background will provide them with many opportunities within this industry.
