The History of Freyburn Angus

As a team, we willingly and most importantly decided to carry on the “Family Tradition” of Freyburn Angus Farms. We have focused on finding and assembling a strong herd of Black Angus cattle based on power, fertility, longevity, genotypes, and phenotypes. Between our three families we have gone and purchased top end bloodlines from:

-Town N’ Country Cattle Co.
-Howe Black Angus Dispersal
-Mountain View Farms
-New Force Angus Dispersal
-Young Dale Herd Reduction Sale

It all began when dad had mentioned he was ready to pass the reins down to his children as he was ready to start slowing down. After careful consideration all of us kids got together to carry on the legacy.

Dad dispersed his herd in October of 2005, at which we purchased top end females. We also made the choice to have one last on the farm bull sale in March of 2006 until we are able to raise our herd numbers back up to a figure that would allow us do so again.

Until then we have decided to market our bulls at the following two locations:
-Regina Bull Sale
-Alameda Bull Sale

Guarantee

We still however, STAND BEHIND our cattle 100%. If you have any issues with any bull or female purchased from us we would like to know and we will try to facilitate it in any way reasonably possible. However, we would like to hear any feedback about our cattle. You can email us at freyburnfarms@hotmail.com, or jfrey1@sasktel.net . Or feel Free to call anytime at 1-306-483-2291.

We would all like to extend a huge thank you to our dad and mom George and Annamae because if it wasn’t for them we would not be where we are today. Dad is still a big part of this operation, if it wasn’t for him I’m not to sure how we would survive in this business. All the way from feeding or watching cows for us or simply just voicing your opinion from time to time it is very much appreciated. Thank you two very much.

We would also like to thank our brother Greg and his wife Cheri for giving us a hand getting our bull sale catalogues together and for helping out on the farm when they come down. I think it’s pretty fair to say that this is a family effort, and if it wasn’t for family none of this would be possible.
