McTavish Charolais has established a very strict culling program for our replacement females based on birth weight, performance, milk and desirable body shape. We are looking for females with natural muscling and fleshing capabilities while remaining feminine. There needs to be a balance between muscle and fat without compromising weight gain. We also have a strong focus on milk; our females need to milk to be of use to us or anyone else. All the replacement females are required to fit a certain body shape. We believe the more consistent the cow herd, the more consistent the calf crop.
