John Rudiger has been a dedicated pioneer breeder of Charolais since 1959. His first Charolais bull was a Mexican Full Blood called Santa Claus MC20. He is lifetime member #3 in the Canadian Charolais Association. He is a lifetime member #449 in the American International Charolais Association.

John has selected his breeding stock for ease of calving, high performance, soundness, fertility in both males and females, masculine males, feminine females and docility.

He has concentrated on Full French Charolais with proven pedigrees. All registered Canadian Full French Charolais are required to be parentage verified by DNA before they can be registered in the Canadian Full French Charolais Herdbook.

His number one goal has been to produce Charolais herdbulls for the Commercial Industry - bulls that produce calves that have high weaning weights, that feed out efficiently in the feed lot and have top quality carcasses. All of his main herdsires have been in the top end when tested on the Conception to Consumer (C - C) sire testing program.

He provides warranty on his commercial herd bulls, so that if the custorm has calving probelms when used on mature cows, a replacement bull is provided.

At the present time John is developing a herd of Polled Full French Charolais. He owns, in partnership with Juan Munoz, the first polled Full French heifer born in Canada. Rudiger Ranch has the first two generation Polled Full French Bull Calf born in Canada.

Cadet Roussel was one of the top bulls on the C-C program for ease of calving, high weaning, yearling and carcass indexes. Cadet's calves were long and slender at birth and developed meat and muscle later.

Curtis Wallace is one of the most recent proven bulls on the C-C program. All his calves graded triple A (AAA) or double A (AA). One of the top yielding progeny on test, Curtis Wallace was awarded Reserve Senior Champion at Calgary Stampede, Edmonton Fall Fair and Regina Agribition. His sons have done well in both shows and topping bull sales. Curtis Wallace produces good testicle size on his sons at one year of age.
