Five top Commercial producers selected BLC Last Call 9Z a
Sparrows Caracas 230S son as the Champion individual bull.
He was owned by Buffalo Lake Charolais, Stettler. The Reserve individual bull was PCC Cobra 2Z a Shelco Made Easy 512R son.
Exhibited by Prairie Cove Farm, Bowden. There were
15 bulls in the individual show.
Buffalo Lake also won the pen of 3 bull show with 3 red
factor bulls, one sired by Crystal D Trigger 104T and two Sired by Pro-Char Mohican.
Vikse Family Farm, Donalda showed the reserve pen of 3 bulls. They are
sired by HTA Ice 19X, SOS Chinook 26L and MNE Green Light 15G.
There were 7 pens shown.
The Players Club Champion Bull Was KAYR Big Screen 601Z, a
Rolling D Classic 878U son. He was shown by Kay-R Charolais, Waskatenau.
Wade Meakin, Wrangler Charolais, Westlock had his name drawn
for the Membership draw and he selected PRO-CHAR Kraken 23z a
Wrangler Frenchie 2X son. Pro-Char Charolais receives
$10,000 and Wade gets the bull.
The commercial producer bull draw was won by Merv Teows from
Stettler. He selected BLC Last Call 9Z a Sparrows Caracas 230S son

The first annual Princess of the Marsh Jackpot Heifer Calf Show was held September 29th on the N7 Cattle Ranch, Douglas, MB. A three panel judging team selected Tri-N Montana 156Z, in this multi-breed futurity show, over 47 entries as Princess of the Marsh. The Curtis Wallace sired Charolais heifer is owned by Tri-N Charolais of Lenore. A portion of the jackpot proceeds will go to the Manitoba Roundup Show held annually in Neepawa in support of Manitoba youth involved in beef production.Top

Emily will be showing her heifer at the 2012 Toronto Royal Winter Fair Junior Beef Heifer Show, along with nine other Temiskaming District Beef 4-H club members. Judge, Mathew Glasman selected a Charolais steer sired by, HBSF Specialist 108U as the Supreme Champion Steer at the Roblin, Manitoba 4-H Regional Livestock Show. The 1423 lb. steer, exhibited by Tomina Jackson, High Bluff Stock Farm, Inglis was purchased by Maple Farm Equipment, Russell for $2.85/lb. Tomina’s steer went on to be the Champion steer in the open 4-H show in Dauphin, MB.Top
Charcross Steer Wins Williams Lake 4-H Show

Williams Lake, BC held their 54th annual 4-H Show and Sale from August 18th to August 22nd at the BC Livestock CO-OP Stockyards. There were 47 steers shown. Grand Champion Steer of the show was owned by Davana Mahon of the Rose Lake 4-H Club. This buckskin steer weighed 1,330lbs and sold to Finning Tractor for $3.75/lb. Davana purchased this steer from Squaw Valley Ranch.

This makes her eligible to go to the RBC Beef Supreme Challenge at Agribition. Former Charolette President passes

Cheryl Sim of Rosetown, SK passed away July 2 in Saskatoon Hospital after months in the hospital. Cheryl and her husband Gerald were longtime Charolais breeders under the name of Sim and Sons Charolais. She was president of the Canadian Charolettes for five years in the early 1990′s.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 6 at the Rosetown United Church, 118 – 2nd Ave East.
If desired, donations in lieu of tributes are welcomed to The Arthritis Society.

VFF Time Out 172y a SDC Time Out 88T son was named Champion Ranchers Choice at the Canadian Bull Congress is Camrose, AB. He is owned by Vikse Family Farm, Donalda. Also the Reserve pen of three bulls were also Charolais Bulls from Vikse Family Farm.
Canadian Bulls Win at Denver

CML Diablo 2X by Sparrows Sanchez 715T was Grand Champion Bull at the Denver National Stock Show Jan. 16, 2012. Bred and raised by McLeod Livestock, Cochrane, AB Diablo was the high selling bull in Canada in 2011 selling to Thomas Ranch, Harrold, SD and Polzin Cattle Co., Darwin, MN. Diablo’s full brother CML Encore 4Y also bred and campaigned last fall by McLeod Livestock won Champion Junior Bull Calf honours for new owners Silver Spur Ranch of Kiowa, CO.
Airey Re-elected President of MCA

Harry Airey of Rivers was re-elected president of the Manitoba Charolais Association at its Annual General meeting held Jan. 7th in Brandon. Re-elected 1st vice-president was Ernie Bayduza of Dauphin while Andre Steppler of Miami was elected 2nd vice-president. Rae Trimble-Olsen remains Secretary-Treasurer.
