Canadian Western Agribition Commercial Show Feeder Steer category. These Charolais

and then the over all. Weighing 955 lbs. they sold the next day in the sale

Canadian Western Agribition President Larry Brack announced the eight recipients
of the $1,000 CWA Scholarship Awards for the 2004 * 2005 academic year. The
recipients are pursuing their post secondary education at institutions in
the United States as well as Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Educational
interests range from agriculture studies to engineering, education, administration
and communications. One of those receiving a scholarship is Charolais breeder
Crystal Blake, Wood River Charolais, McCord, SK; a Team Grooming and International
4-H Judging Seminar participant entering her 3rd year, Agriculture-Animal
Science at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon.

Garner Deobald of Hodgeville, SK has been hired by the Canadian Charolais
Assoication as its new fieldman effective October 1st, 2004. Garner is no
stranger to the association having been a breeder for the past 25 years. As
well as serving on the Saskatchewan Charolais Association and the Canadian
Charolais Association board of directors, Garner was CCA president from 2000
to 2002. Deobald's focus will be on the commerecial industry building a stronger
relationship right from the producer to auction marts, feedlots and packing
plants.

Dr. Bryan Hicks form Arthur, ON was elected president of the Canadian Charolais
Association at the 44th Annual Meeting held June 19th in Guelph, ON. Other executive
members include Allan Marshall, Innisfail, AB as past president, Jack Rairdan,
Stettler, AB as 1st vice-president and Cam Sparrow, Vanscoy, SK as 2nd Vice-President.
