Carolyn was born September 17, 1943, in Drumheller, AB and passed away September 15, 2026, in Strathmore, AB surrounded by family just shy of her 83rd birthday.
Carolyn was raised on her family’s farm near Carbon, AB where she grew up and spent her childhood and adolescent years. After graduating from school in Carbon, she went on to Olds College where she studied Home Economics. Following college, Carolyn moved to Calgary where she met her very dear friend, Edith Penner who, along with Bob, would later introduce her to Lloyd on a blind date in the field!
Lloyd and Carolyn were married October 26, 1963, and started their farming life and family near Swalwell. Together, they raised their 3 children; Laurie, Darren and Lisa and in 2014 sold the farm and moved to Strathmore. They successfully operated Bar Nineteen Charolais for many years. Carolyn was a true homemaker and farm wife. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandma that supported all the kids’ activities from watching them in 4-H, playing baseball, hockey and volleyball. A private family service will be held at the Swalwell cemetery.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Daniel Robert Loewen announce his passing on August 27th in Brooks at the age of 76 with family by his side. Danny was born on August 7th, 1950 in Bassano, Alberta. He was raised in Rosemary, Alberta where he spent his entire life, raised his family and even retired all on RR154.
In 1980 he bought his first 25 purebred Charolais cows. Loewen Charolais was up and running. Danny also sat on both the Alberta Charolais and the Canadian Charolais Associations Board of Directors.
Danny will be loving remembered by his wife Marg, son Scott (Mareta), grandchildren Mason (Brook), Kennedy, Caleb, Kayden, Lauren, Hannah, Kathleen, Henry, sister-in-law Linda, his niece, six nephews, extended family members, dear friends and those who lives were touched over the years.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2:00 PM at the Rosemary Mennonite Church. Interment at Rosemary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Danny donations may be made directly to the Duchess Arena upgrade project. Any donations can be eft to duchessagsociety@yahoo.ca, cash or cheques can be dropped off at ATB in Duchess or mailed to Box 385 Duchess, AB.

Thomas (Teg) Grieve passed on Monday, August 31st, at the Fillmore Health Center at the age of 93. Thomas leaves to mourn his passing, wife Karen and their 4 children Dylan, Angel, Brett and Step Daughter Deanna. From his previous marriage he leaves his children Cindy, Lorena, Scott as well as his sister Shirley Lueck. As well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Thomas was born on March 29th, 1933, in Hardieville AB. He grew up on small acreage near Lethbridge. He with his family moved to Fillmore in 1950, where he then finished grade 12. In 1995 Tom and Karen met, and he gained stepdaughter Deanna then he and Karen had Son Dylan and adopted Angel and Brett. They continued with the 4H, sports and community events. Tom was an avid ball player and curler; he played ball with the Fillmore Rockets for 53 years! He spent countless hours coaching and watching all his kids, grandkids and great grandkids play sports too.

Teg spent his whole life raising, showing and fitting cattle, as well as serving on various breed associations and producer groups. Tom owned many cows in his day, but his favourite were Herefords and Charolais. He passed his love of cows down to his kids, who all showed in 4H and CCYA shows across Canada. He was also an exhibitor in Agribition for 51 years and loved every year more than the last. Teg and Scott were the original Charolais breeders in the family. They operated under the name of “Clipper Cattle Company’.

In recent years, Tom couldn’t be out with the cattle, but he enjoyed touring the pastures in the truck, attending cattle sales in Candiac whenever he had the chance and enjoyed visits with his family while doing so.

A graveside service will be held on September 26th, 2026, at the Fillmore Cemetery at 3:00pm, everyone welcome. Please bring a chair if you so require. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at the farm North of Fillmore following the service.
